Two days before Halloween, we finally got around to visiting a pumpkin patch – but not just any pumpkin patch. When we moved to Portland in late December, one of our must-do activities was visit the Roloff Farms pumpkin patch in the fall. If you’re not familiar with the name, it’s from the TLC show “Little People Big World,” a long-time regular on our DVR. Sweet family, and they own quite the little pumpkin kingdom a quick 20 minutes from home.
It was an amazing autumn day, and we had a great time roaming the grounds, taking the hayride/tour, munching on kettle corn – and after running into a co-worker of mine from Nike, we also spotted three members of the Roloff family: Matt, Amy and Jacob. Since Jeff and I are kind of lame when it comes to asking for pictures, we just took pictures of them posing with random people. 🙂
We ended the day with a stop at the McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern, which was the coziest bar I’ve ever seen. Of the 60ish McMenamins pubs in the Portland area, between the two of us we’ve hit 16. (Although maybe we’re forgetting one or two…) They totally need a passport-type program, Jeff’s always saying…
Happy Halloween Eve to all! No costumes for us this year. Lame again. Although we might have a fun Halloween activity at our place tomorrow, we’ll see…
Keep those prayers coming for my Grandma and Grandpa Redick. Grandma suffered a stroke this week, while Grandpa’s getting a little weaker as his blood count dips. My Uncle Bob made me smile this morning by sending me a cell phone photo of Grandpa grinning in an old Indianapolis Final Four tee from Jeff’s Indiana Sports Corporation days – it’s sure a happy picture.
